their skills in designing and managing facilitated processes and ensuring
productive group outcomes. Each session will include a broad range of
experiences, resources and methods-all designed to engage and stimulate
participants in an enjoyable and highly effective learning environment.

Pitters will lead the workshop session, Managing
Facilitated Processes: What Works and What Doesn't. She will
focus on key tools you need to prepare for 18 types of facilitated
processes and the five key elements in supporting a successful
process: participants, speakers, logistics, documents and feedback.
By the end of this workshop you will be comfortable using many
time-saving tools in the book Managing Facilitated Processes
and will understand and be able to apply an approach for managing
facilitated processes that is integrated, customized and systematic.

Every IAF 2009 Canada Tour participant
will receive two books on-site. Everybody will receive a copy of Managing
Facilitated Processes: A Guide for Consultants, Facilitators, Managers,
Trainers, Event Planners, and Educators by Dorothy Strachan and
Marian Pitters (2009).
Halifax Workshop participants will
receive a copy of Process Design: Making it Work, A Practical Guide
to What to do When and How for Facilitators, Consultants, Managers and
Coaches by Dorothy Strachan and Paul Tomlinson (2008), while Western
Canadian workshop participants will receive Making Questions Work:
A Guide to What and How to Ask for Facilitators, Consultants, Managers,
Coaches, and Educators by Dorothy Strachan (2007).
